The Holiday update, touted by the company's Twitter feed, features 10 upgrades that address infotainment, connectivity, customization and performance.

After installing the update, owners will be able to view their furry friends via the in-car camera on their smartphone when using the Tesla app and Dog or Sentry Mode in tandem. Dog Mode keeps the vehicle's climate control on even when the model is turned off, allowing Spot and Rover to avoid life-threatening hot car incidents.

Owners can also now coordinate with each other to create their own orchestra of light when scheduling Light Show on multiple vehicles. Light Show uses a car's stereo system, headlights, taillights and cabin lights to create a music-infused experience for those inside and outside the car.

New Model S and Model X vehicles will now be able to stream gaming content to their large central infotainment screen. Tesla says that "thousands" of games will be available.

Model Y buyers who want an sportier experience behind the wheel are able to engage Track Mode with the new update installed. Typically modes like these enhance the throttle sensitivity, sometimes even unlocking more power from the motor.

Tesla vehicle owners can now listen to Apple Music in their cars. The service joins Spotify, Tidal and TuneIn on the infotainment screen as listening options.

As part of the update, homeowners can now control their garage door via their Tesla's MyQ. Model 3, Model Y and new Model S and Model X owners can open and close their doors via the infotainment screen. The update provides complementary access to the technology for 30 days. Not all garage doors are compatible. Tesla didn't note what the feature would cost once the trial period runs out.

Owners can now enable Rainbow Road to show all all times. The visual effect is an homage to Mario Kart 64 and displays a multicolor "track" for the car to be on while Autopilot is engaged.

Users can now take Zoom calls via the car's central screen.

The company is also adding user interface (UI) cars back into the infotainment mix, allowing a feature that was available on previous versions of the car's software to come back.

Tesla is currently selling the Model 3 and Model S sedans, Model Y crossover and Model X SUV globally. J.D Power's vice president of data and analytics recently told Newsweek that a Tesla is the model buyers should be considering this holiday season.
